Clear, compassionate assessments for
children and young people

With more time together away from the usual school routine, many parents begin to see meaning in patterns of behaviour and start asking whether there could be more behind their child’s experiences. For some families, it’s when early concerns become clearer and they start exploring whether ADHD or autism may be a factor.
Wherever you are on that journey, we’re here to support you.

What might I be seeing in my child or teen over the summer?

Sensory overload. Busy days out, crowded places, hot weather, unfamiliar environments and changes in noise, light or clothing can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Difficulties with changes in routine. The long break from school can mean familiar routines, structures and expectations suddenly disappear, which can feel unsettling rather than relaxing.
Anxiety about the unknown. Holidays, trips, childcare arrangements and spontaneous plans can bring lots of uncertainty. Not knowing what is happening, where they are going or what to expect may be a significant source of stress.
Struggles with emotional regulation. Longer days, disrupted sleep, more socialising and the pressure to enjoy summer can be exhausting, making it harder to manage emotions and cope with everyday demands.

What happens after an assessment?

We know that waiting for answers can be one of the hardest parts of supporting your child.

Families have a personalised online feedback appointment to talk through the assessment, followed by a detailed report outlining onward recommendations and referrals where appropriate, regardless of the outcome.

This may include strategies to support attention, organisation and emotional regulation, as well as advice for school and home.

Ongoing support

Because getting answers is just the beginning. Our support does not end with the assessment. We can also provide continued guidance with a free post-diagnostic workshop for parents and carers of young people who receive a diagnosis. Additional support could include Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) advice, speech and language therapy, education psychology, and occupational therapy.
