If you’re experiencing long NHS England waiting times for an Autism or ADHD assessment, Right to Choose (RTC) may help you access support sooner.

What is right to choose?

Right to Choose is a legal right that allows your GP to refer you to a provider of your choice, helping you access Autism and ADHD assessments sooner than long NHS waiting lists may allow.

Momenta Connect offers Autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people up to 18 through NHS England. The service meets all Right to Choose requirements, holding an NHS contract and following NICE guidance.

For more information, you can read the official NHS guidance.

Waiting for an NHS assessment takes years. With Momenta Connect, you could be seen in just 8-10 weeks.*

For many children and young people, waiting this long can mean prolonged uncertainty, rising anxiety and delayed support. Through the Right to Choose pathway, families can access timely, clinically robust assessments with Momenta Connect, helping needs to be understood sooner and the right support put in place without unnecessary delay.

*Note: Based on typical NHS waiting times. Momenta Connect waiting time is subject to change and starts from referral acceptance.

What is NHS Right to Choose?

NHS Right to Choose gives patients in England the legal right to choose where they receive certain NHS-funded services, including ADHD and autism assessments, as long as the provider has an NHS contract.

Who can use Right to Choose?

Right to Choose is available to:

  • Patients registered with a GP in England
  • Children, young people and adults (eligibility depends on the service)

Do you prescribe medication following an ADHD diagnosis?

No, we are not a prescribing service.

We provide ADHD assessments for children alongside meaningful strategies and advice on any next steps post assessment, regardless of the outcome.

If medication is something you wish to explore following an assessment, your GP can refer you to your local team that will support with medication assessment and prescription.

What age ranges do you accept for Autism assessments?

We accept referrals for Autism assessments for children and young people aged 2-18 years.

Please note that referrals for children under 5 require a paediatrician assessment and report before we can proceed with a diagnostic assessment.
