Clear, compassionate assessments for
children and young people

Christmas can be a challenging time for children, especially when routines change or things feel overwhelming.
For some families, it’s when early concerns become clearer and they start exploring whether ADHD or autism may be a factor.
Wherever you are on that journey, we’re here to support you.

What might I be seeing in my child at Christmas?

  • Sensory overload. The magical lights, sounds and smells of Christmas can be overstimulating.
  • Difficulties with changes in routine. When normal routines are abandoned for parties, shopping and events it can be unsettling.
  • Anxiety about the unknown. The unpredictability of the season, including not knowing what gifts to expect can be a major source of stress.
  • Struggles with emotional regulation. Trying to keep up with the excitement and activity can be exhausting making it hard to regulate emotions.

The Momenta assessment journey

Our ADHD, Autism and Combined ADHD & Autism assessments are designed to build a full understanding of a child’s experiences at home, at school and in daily life.

An information gathering call: a friendly screening call to understand your needs.

In-person or online assessment: most of our assessments are conducted online. We also have several assessment centres across the UK for in-person assessments.

Pre-assessment: you will be sent developmental history paperwork.

Assessment Part 1: a diagnostic interview with a trained therapist centred around the child.

Assessment Part 2: a developmental discussion with one of our specialist paediatricians and the parent/carer involving sharing reports and observations from home and school.

What happens after an assessment?

We know that waiting for answers can be one of the hardest parts of supporting your child. With Momenta Diagnostics, you’ll receive an initial outcome within 48 hours of your child’s assessment.

Families receive a personalised report outlining the findings and recommendations within eight weeks. This may include strategies to support attention, organisation and emotional regulation, as well as advice for school and home. Where appropriate, we provide a formal diagnosis to help guide Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or access to specialist support.

Our expert team ensures every assessment is carried out carefully and compassionately — giving you clarity, reassurance and a clear plan for next steps.
